I have a user who upgraded from an older (Win 98 or Win
NT?) to XP.  In the older version, she was able to
customize one of her Windows Explorer folders with a
picture as the background.  Now, after upgrading to XP,

I am trying to permanently enable the "show window contents
while dragging" display effect in Windows XP Professional.
When I enable it, it remains in affect until the machine
is shut down or until I switch users.  Either of those

I don't know what they are called so ill try to explain.
When you right click on your desktop to bring up the
quick menu, you will see an option to Arrange Icons By
(notice the little arrow) that tells there are additional

Every time I check for a restore point, I'm told there aren't any - even
though I have the setting at its' maximum and I have plenty of space on my
drive.  Is there a fix for this?

I have a WinXP Pro system and I need a service to start on
boot. I set it to auto, etc. with no luck. I can manually
start the service at any time.

I recently upgraded to XP Home and found that the Themes I
used in Windows 2000 are no longer available.  The
particular one I used was Plum (High Colour).  Does anyone

My Home Page for Internet Explorer and Netscape as well as
many Microsoft web pages occupies only part of the monitor
screen - there is a large white space on the right side.

I was unable to change the Desktop picture.
This is what I did:
Right click on property>Display Properties>Desktop>Browse>
Choose the desired picture in jpg.

I am having trouble transfering my files and settings from
my old computer (Windows Me) to my new one (XP).
I have the latest version of the wizard, downloaded from
microsoft.com.  I copied it to a floppy, which I am using

I am running a home PC with WinXP Pro and my ntuser.dat
file has reached almost 5 GB.
Is there a way to reduce it's size or move it to another
drive (for example D:)?
