I have windows xp.  My screen is a beautiful blue but
objects and words are blurred and words have a smear look

how do i turn off the various beeps and bongs when using XP?  i've already
been into the control panel and turned all options to "no sound" but some

sigh,.. I thought I had this figured out but then I clicked the wrong
