my taskbar appears to be permanently locked.  if i right
click on it the "lock the taskbar" option is checked and
completely greyed out, meaning that i can't click on it.
it wasn't always like this, it is a recent development.

Ican't remember how to change the size of my quicklaunch
icons.  they are stuck in the small size, and i want them
made bigger.  anybody remember how to do this?

How can I modify XP Pro so that any .jpg files on my
desktop are displayed as thumbnails so I can see the file
content at a glance?  I have a friend with a computer set
up this way... but he does not know how it was done.

I want to be able to open windows explorer and have the left pane showing
the folders instead of having to click on the folders button every time I

Our school secratary backs up everything onto ZIP disks.  
When you right click on a document file the menu that
opens has a "SEND TO" option that includes the A:\ drive,
but not the D:\ ZIP drive.  Is there anyway I can add it

Hi... I changed Icon to the harddisks and from that moment if I click on the
icon in the MYCOMPUTER folder I get the error: "the system cannot find the
device specified"
If I write on the explorer "c:/ or d:/..." I do not have any problem...

I have the "My Documents" folder set to display
Thumbnails.  Today, the filenames disappeared from view.  
I can still see them on mouseover, though.  How can I
reset this so that I can see the filenames all the time?

Not sure really how long ago this happened, but when I use windows explorer,
the little tiny folder icons don't show up...it's just text.  any ideas how
to fix this?  I use classic view, but I use classic view on the laptop too
and it shows folder icons  TIA

Everytime that I create or delete a folder on my
desktop or in a folder, the new folder does not show up
unless I right click and hit refresh. Does anyone know
why this occurs and how I can stop it?

Does anyone know if I can have the picture tasks feature
that is offered on the XP Home edition on a laptop that
has XP Professional installed? I bought that from school
(a student version) and I don't know if it is a stripped

Everytime, when windows XP starts, "System32" folder pops
