Occasionally, for the past month or so, when I got to shut down
Windows XP it will restart rather than shutting down.  When it started
doing this, I started making real sure I was pressing "shut down" and
not "restart" by mistake.  It still restarts about 1 out of 5 times.

My computer automatically went into VGA mode (its a
monitor setting) and now i don't know how to get it out
of this mode. It makes my Windows look weird and big.

When synchronizing with any server, I get the error
message: "An unknown error occurred when synchronizing
with (server)".

i don't seem to have the option for a 'display settings' in the taskbar
anywhere on my machine, so i thought i would make a link myself.
i have made a custom shortcut to the following location:

I have windows xp prof. When I try and relocate icons on
my desktop they snap back to a default. Where is the
settin to change this. I want to be able to move them
around and not have them snap back.

I have a clean install of xp - it detected the external modem fine. Now
however, if I switch on with the modem switched off xp doesn't have the
modem in Hardware Manager. If I turn it on before power up it's there and
works fine. How can I make it keep the modem all the time?

I do not have a raid on my motherboard.  So does anyone
know hoy to implement it in Windowxp PRO with out a
raid-0 card.  I will be using 2 SATA hard drives.

I down loaded from the BBC a background of Johnny
Wilkinson scoring the winning drop goal.  It was ok on my
account in Windows XP, but when we down loaded to my
