Hi, What I'm talking about is Explorer's folder list or the list view type
you get when you browse from a dialog box. I want to add a "Desktop" subitem
(llike My Documents or My Computer) such as a folder. I know I can do it
through he registry but can't remember how to go about ...

When I have Windows save passwords I don't have to sign
in for a few times, but then it asks for the password. I
have permitted cookies for the subject websites. Any
ideas what I may be doing wrong? I am running Windows XP

Windows XP--When I go to the start button and click turn
off computer all I get is the screen saying windows is
shtting off.  The only way I can turn the computer off is
to hold the power button in.  Please any help?

I am currently using Windows Classic, but want to return
to the default Windows XP theme with all the new window
and button styles (greens, blue, shading, etc).  I choose
the Windows XP theme, but can only see the Windows Classic

   When renaming a group of files (namely music files), I
select all and rename the first one with the naming
convention "name(1)", and the rest of the files
automatically names the corresponding files 2,3,4....

I have Windows XP Pro with SP1. I recently changed the
permissions on my documents folder for my logon ID.
With "Use simple file sharing" turned on I right clicked

I've changed the desktop icons to custom icons.  However, after a day
or two, the icons change back to the original XP icons.
I've deleted and rebuilt the iconcache.db file, and rebuilt the
Iconcache, but still no luck.  After a couple of days, the 'old' icons

while browsing the web yesterday, I got "zapped" by some unfriendly
scripting.  My AVG antivirus caught part of it "in the act", but it still
left some stuff on my computer.
I did get rid of a small file called "i.exe" in the root "c" drive, but it
