When I click on all programs I get a window with three wide columns. I can not read anything in the third column. How do I make the columns smaller, or configured in a way that I can see all programs installed?

I have just discovered beaucoup files at c:\Documents and Settings\me\Local Settings\Temp which I manually deleted. But how can I set XP to, say, remove them at every shutdown?

I do not know what caused this to stop working, but now when I right click on the desktop, nothing happens. No window opens to allow new files to be created or access into the display properties. Nothing at all happens.
