Since I seldom, if ever, open Windows Explorer to do
anything but work on the folders and files in my C:\
drive, how do I get Windows Explorer to defalut to C:\?

Is there any way to shut off Search Companion entirely?

I am attempting to set up my two monitors ... I now it so
that each is working, but they simply mirror each
other ... I want to use them indepently and so that a
program can be stretched across each monitor.

When install certain programs they automatically set
themselves to open at startup. How do you remove certain

How do I turn on caplock and numlock when my system boots
and logs on.  Already did BIOS.  Running WinXP Pro

I am unable to double click the icons that are on my desktop.  I am currently using a Latitude D600 with an external monitor, but just last week I was able to double click on any Icon on my desktop, but now none of them work

Ok so windows XP pro. on a AMD 2700XP W/ 1GB Of RAM
Everythign works amazing on my computer.

When i go in and set certain things like Norton Antivirus

The font that is used for the desktop fonts can be changed
but I cannot find out how to change the color of the font.

When launching Windows Explorer, the default folder that
the cursor is placed at is the Startup folder.  I want
the starting point to be further up the tree, hopefully
at the C drive.  As it is, I have to navigate to the root

I need to disable the windows shortcut keys... like <ctrl
c> to copy. How come I cannot find a control panel item
or anyway to set or change the shortcuts? I already
disabled the worthless "windows key". How lame is that

When the phone rings or when we answer a call and then

Just got a new laptop - HP Pavilion zd7020 - it came with
an "enhanced" HP version of Windows XP "HOME" edition along
with specific drivers for the laptop hardware, etc.
Question is can I update the laptop to Windows XP Pro

In Windows Explorer you should be able to see the
contents of a .ico file (for icons) the same as you can
see the contents of a .cur file (for cursors).  I can see
my cursors just fine, but not the icons.  All of my .ico
