I'm running XP Pro and whenever I want to do just "vanilla" boot, i.e.
restart after updates without shutting it down cold my drives are not
detected. When I shut the power off completely it boots normally. Any ideas

I would like to be able to automatically signon the PC at boot. In other
words I would like to store my password like in win2000 so that the pc just
boots, signs me in, and displays the desktop.

I have been developing themes for windows XP for the last
several months, but one thing i cant seem to customize is
the tooltips on the Start Menu... for example: the idiot
friendly tooltip that comes after moving the mouse over

My system loads an unbearable number of programs
automatically and it therefore takes nearly 5 full
minutes to get up and running.  The system tray also
loads FULL of icons.

All my folders including hard drive are picture folders.  
how do i change them to document folders.  there is a
customize option on mostfolders, however there isn't one
on windows, program files or the hard drive.

resolution but the bootup is only like 640x480 or even less.
i know that on certain laptops the resolution is the same as the default

A few days ago I lost the ablility to click on my task
bar and pick what window in IE I wanted open. I just hit
cascade and they popped up. Since then I have been Unable
