When i watch some movies on internet picture is bad. I can not read subtitles and picture is not so clear. What to do

it is irritating;i find the search companion a pesky companion-any suggestions to turn off this and get the classic or plain search.i tried changing the theme but alas...Any help will be appreciated

I upgraded from Win2000 to WinXP Pro.
I had the same problem before as now.  When I open Outlook an LAPD
Directory menu is opened.
How can I disable this menu from opening.

When I try to access http://www.shopturbotax.com, I get an error which says
I need to have cookies enabled.  The message says to go to Internet
Options/Privacy and click on Default.  I did this - but continue to get the
error message.  I even put the URL in the exception list - but ...

Must have brain fade.  I click on any icon, click properties, change icon
button, I don't have a large list to choose from. At most, one new choice. I
know I'm doing this wrong, but can't remember how to do it.

Okay, doing some work on friend's computer and i found
that when i go to start and try to search for
something.....(start, search) the search option doesnt
exist. He doesn't know where it went and wants it back.

Does OE have the capability of playing a wav file of my choice to

I don't mean to lock the machine so it can't be used.
I just mean, is there something like "read only" that
would keep an icon on the desktop from being deleted
or at least ask for confirmation before it was deleted
