To get the icon label to appear on a black background in WIN 2000, I go would proceed via MY COMPUTER>CONTROL PANEL> DISPLAY, then select the APPEARANCE tab, and then change item:DESKTOP COLOR: to Black.  That Black would show up in the labels of the icons on top of my background ...

In Windows Explorer I customized the toolbar to always show icon text.
However, every time I close/reopen Windows Explorer the icon text is missing
and I have to go into customize mode again and re-select show icon text.
Any idea how to make this setting stick?

When I do a defragmentation and look at the report, there are always
some files that did not defragment.  However, the bottom pane of the
report is always empty.  On my Win98 machines, the bottom pane gives the
details of which files did not defrag.  Is this normal?

Hello. I just upgraded from XP home to XP pro on my
laptop. I used to have an option under the POWER OPTIONS

I am running Windows XP, How do I backup my C: Drive ? I put my
documents and my desktop  on CD'S but I don't know how to backup C:
Drive. I thought about putting it on C'Ds but it would take alot of C'Ds

of wupdater.exe.  When I run McAfee Virus Scan, this is

Can having a large number of installed programs slow the computer down?
Only Zonealarm, Propel Accelerator & Antiviris load at startup.
I have used msconfig to uncheck other programs like Nero Burner who want to
have something "alive".

question is how do I move all my Outlook Express folders and mesages from

Is there a way to add comments to file folders so when
you mouse over a folder the little yellow  menu says what
you want?, ie. contents of the folder. I've tried
the "View...Choose Details" menu and the "Customize

Even though I have tried changing it via the advanced tap
in appearance, I can't get the font to change in the list
of programs under the start button.  Any suggestions?
