Hey, I had the same problem. I deleted the show desktop icon from the quicklaunch bar. Thanks Ramesh!! your information helped me. I had several other tips from others, but I never knew to pay attention to the double quotations. Thanks.

the control panel doesn't save it's display settings.I know the control
panel is a virtual folder and wouldn't actually have a *normal* file in it
but, is there something that takes desktop.ini place?

I somehow made my desktop items very large, even so big
