I was about quarter of the way the through compressing my windows xp drive
and seeing it would take ages, i just stopped it....
But then, my cd rom drive had completly dissapeared!!!

I am not sure when this started or why, but for some
reason my window settings for folders on the desktop are
no longer being retained.  I'm running XP Pro with all

I'm new to Windows XP. In Windows 98, I was able to put
documents on the quick launch. I would like to put the
documents I use constantly throughout the day on the

I can't drag or copy any documents or folders to Quick Launch like I did in Windows 98. It won't let me move or copy anything but a program or my desktop to the Quick Launc
