Is there a way of disabling tooltips in Windows XP?  I edited the
registry key:
HKEY_USERS/.DEFAULT/Control Panel/Desktop
to say 3E 00 00 00, but tooltips are still on.

Is there a way to keep the desktop icons where they have been put by a
user?  After a change of resolution or sometimes just a change in the
display, the icons realign themselves in alphabetical order down the
left side.
