I'd appreciate any help: I have XP home and the disk caching is turned off. In device manager/properties/policies, it has the "optimized for performance" checked, but is grayed out. It has nothing below it, such as the box to check then enable/disable write caching on the disk box.

The toolbar on my desktop is double height. If I drag it down it disappears completely. If I unclick Quicklaunch, it also disappears. I want it single height and I want Quicklaunch. There are not tons of icons in it. What's up?

I've re-installed XP and my keyboard now is not mapped correctly, ie. when I hit shift + key 2 the @ sign appears not the " mark.... Similarly shift and key 3 = #, not the UK sterling pound
