setting higher mouse or trackball speed?19 May 2004 17:27 GMT1
Hi, the built-in trackball on my keyboard needs much higher speed or acceleration than Windows XP allows in the ControlPanel-Mouse options. It takes 5 turns of the trackball to move the full width of a 1280 pixel display. It is a Focus Electronics keyboard, so there is no driver ...
Window XP Rebooting Unexpectedly19 May 2004 16:19 GMT2
Apparently, XP has a function that reboots the system
whenever it feels the system is in fear or disaster. It's
doing this because of some software I added. But when I
try to remove the software, it keeps rebooting before I

When I turn my computer on, the system idle process is

Is there some way to disable "my pictures" ?19 May 2004 14:49 GMT2
Prefreably i'd get rid of the whole stupid "my documents" idea, however,

picture there. I have seen computer stores put their logo
there and I would like to know how to do it.

Display Properties19 May 2004 05:31 GMT3
I'm running Win XP Pro SP1.  I seem to be missing most of the tabs on the
Display Properties screen.  I can't remember how long ago I accessed this
screen, but all the usual tabs were there at that time.
Any ideas as to what might cause this?
My Computer Icons19 May 2004 05:31 GMT4
When I install Windows, I always rename My Computer. I
