Running XP Home on my desktop I created a shorcut on the
taskbar for Google.  The icon was the "G" that is
created.  The next day the icon had changed to the
boring "e" icon.  I did the same on my wife's notebook

Does anybody know how to switch off the description infos
in the taskbar. - (Notice: I don't mean the balloon tips!)
So far I could switch off quite all of the annoying yellow
popups, but I couldn't find a way for those in the taskbar.

I resized the taskbar and locked, but it switches back to
default size everytime I restart the computer. How do I
prevent this?

default to Window, but the computers always restore her's.

When I start up my computer, this program runs
atomatically. It shows up in the task manager window. It
uses up a lot of my CPU Usage. It makes it run at 100%.

I've seen other PC's that run XP Pro.
If you have the Caps Lock on they get a message stating
this when you go to a password dialog box.
I can't figure out how to turn this on my PC.

Is there a way to set a default size for a window/folder?
When we open the My Documents folder, we always rezize it
so that we can see all the directories under it, but the
size doesn't hold for the next time.

The icons on the desktop arrange themselves vertically by
default.
Can you arrange them horizontally instead and still get
them to line up, auto arrange etc?

I need to destroy a flaky partition on my HDD but have
forgotten how to set up a back up patition with the
ability to do a SINGLE LEFT click on any item in the top
right hand panel of the 'START' menu. Any ideas please?

components, espsically the "Client for MS Networks" when
you click on "add" it prompts me for a driver. Is this
driver included in my XP disk?

Does anyone know how to lock the oe 6 toolbar? I've
searched forever it seems to find something on it and

I recently had to reinstall XP home.  After installation,
I noticed that many of my icons has a white square
background.  It no longer blends into the existing
backgroung color when select.  How do I fix this?

I recently installed Win XP Pro Norwegian from a Corporate SP1 CD (upgraded
some XP Home computers).  Some of the computers have several users, and I
want the users to be listed as on the XP Home version (Welcome screen).

I changed my resolution to 1440 x 1900 which gives me the clearest display,
however, the desktop is too large and some the icons and taskbar are outside
the boundaries of the screen. They do appear when I put the mouse there and
it scrolls over. How can I keep the resolution and ...
