I like to use Microsoft clips as icons, but when I save them in the MY ICONS folder and try to use them as icons on the desktop, their background color is always black, even though I changed the color of the background in a photo editing program before saving them as bitmap files ...

My folders keep reverting to the detail view. I have the check box selected for remember each folders view setting. But when I shut down and restart the folders revert to the details view.

How do I stop applications from flashing their buttons on the toolbar, and raising it up over the bottom part of the screen? (Normally I have it hidden.) It's annoying when it covers up my work for some trite thing that can wait.

A user running windows xp (sp1) and office xp (sp3) has multiple taskbars. Over time more show up. A result of this is that each time Word, Outlook etc are opened, at least two taskbar buttons show up.

Whenever I switch my computer on, I get the welcome screen asking me for my password. Leaving it blank and pressing enter clears this screen, but is there a way I can bypass it, and go straight to my desktop on startup?
