My desktop Background is gone.  I'm using Microsoft XP.  
I've tried changing backgrounds but it doesn't help.

Having recently been "migrated" to Windoze XP (my initial

How do I change the size of the icons in the task bar?

So I tried to copy a shortcut to my desktop, then all of
a sudden it said that it didn't work, and my background
on my desktop changed to one that I have never used, and
the color behind the application icons were blue

I am travelling and before I left home I set my Desktop PC
(with XP pro) to accept remote users and then tested a
dial-up from my lap-top to the dek-top through a dial-up
out to my ISP and tunnelled back in through my cable modem

I bought a new PC yesterday but it is configured with
French as the XP Home Operating System language. (I live
in France).

When I create the Windows 2000 Pro or Windows XP Pro Desktop for a new user
in my Windows 2003 domain, I manually perform the following modifications to
default Windows settings:
1 - Taskbar:

I set the visual effects to "show contents while
dragging", but each time I turn off the computer this
setting is lost, and I have to reset it every time I turn
the computer back on.  Can this setting be made permanent

I'm trying to rearrange my start menu but when I explore
the 'programs' folder, either via the taskbar and start
menu route or explorer itself, only a fraction of the
folder and application shortcuts that are listed actually

Does anyone know how to adjust the delay for inputing your
password on the start up screen?

I was wondering if there is a way to access the favorites folder from
the start menu, My conputer, or anyplace else? Using XPee Home Ed sp1
