Having recently been "migrated" to Windoze XP (my initial feeling is that the XP is it's rating, eXtremely Poor), I'm hit with some of Macro$carf's "improvements". I know that it is one of the slowest of the OS's Bill and Co.

So I tried to copy a shortcut to my desktop, then all of a sudden it said that it didn't work, and my background on my desktop changed to one that I have never used, and the color behind the application icons were blue

I set the visual effects to "show contents while dragging", but each time I turn off the computer this setting is lost, and I have to reset it every time I turn the computer back on. Can this setting be made permanent
