There are obviously some problems deep within my registry as certain function aren't performing correctly. Examples already mentioned on this board.. the Start-run-cmd screen appears at every reboot, albeit briefly. My McAfee viruscan will not enable for more than 1 minute stating

according to article 190355 you should be able to create the show desktop icon in XP besides right-clicking the toolbar, and found that i have all the folders except after application data. Please help.

Every time I reboot I get (apart from the usual stuff) a brief glimpse of the type of screen one gets when entering Start-Run-CMD. Why would that be? There is one item in startup labelled "HotKeysCmds" c:\windows\sytem32\hkcmd.exe which I'm not familiar with. Could that be it

Now shortcuts put in the startup folder don't start. how to correct it? :'( Maybe It's because last time I tried to move the <user name>\Start Menu\Programs\Startup folder to All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup folder and got a error warning saying I can't do that.
