I wanted to get a scanner icon from the control panel applet, and now the
issue is for me whether I can find a folder with control panel applets to
use for icons.    I can find a scanner icon one in Scan Sof't's folder ,and
on in the C:\WINDOWS\system32\stimon.exe folder in the ...

i have folder tasks,other places, and a descrition box on
the side of my screen it takes up about 1/4 of the screen
i cant get rid of it i like just my icons and background
picture on my screen any suggestions

I'm using XP Home Edition.  After restoring XP after an
operating system crash, I established user accounts for
each member of my family.  My account is an administrator
account, and everyone else's is a limited account.

I don't remember how I did it before but I had just a
little box come up for my logon which I found alot more
convenient then the large logon menu.  I need to know how
to get that instead of the "Windows Welcome Screen"

I use the classic view in XP.  Until recently when going
to Programs, all my programs were shown.  Now only the
Most Frequently Used programs show with the double down
arrows that must be clicked to see all programs.  Anyone

Can someone please help me figure out how to configure a
brand new XP computer so that it's all or mostly in
Spanish. I tried configuring it through Regional and
Language option, but believe I may have missed something

Is it possible to have larger icons (48x48 or larger) on

else? I know that I can change the icon size by going to
display properties but that sets the size for all icons

I am also having the same problem as "MOI" about the icon
backgrounds. I have also tried what has been suggested.
Nothing worked. Originally, there was no color behind the
names of the icon (located right below the icon picture)

I vaguely remember a tool that enabled a quick fix when one is unable to
remove an item from the Add/Remove programmes list that is now a dead link.
(Programme was uninstalled but for whatever reason it still appears on the
list)
