I have tried my best to find the right settings and have checked my
"folder" settings in the control panel but many of my folders will not
show the status bar everytime I open the folder and I am getting tired
of having to go to view and select "status bar" for the same folder

I downloaded a icon i want to use for my recycle bin (it
is a man in a hamock, i tried to edit it by changing the
original hamock from white to yellow.  with the intent of
the yellow hammack icon to be the full recycle bin icon

I have tried to change the associations for several image file types
to open in a particular viewer I like better than the one that comes
with XP.  The change appears correctly in the open dialog under
advanced settings and works with .bmp, .tif. and .gif, but it does not
