I cannot change the read-only file attribute?? I have
followed the Microsoft guide to using the attribute
command in the command prompt however it says "parameter
format not correct -" can someone help??

Additional assist please.....My cleanupmgr.exe file stalls after a couple of
minutes and does not report back to complete.

I've just created an additional user account in XP home
edition.  In the new account I want to have a different

out of no where, I browse my harddrive under c:\ and all
the thumbnails just show a picture of a folder without the

Desktop background [xp pro] is now white and flashes to a
light grey. Right click/Properties on desktop and only get

when i first got my pc when i searched something a list would appear as i was tying my search of all the other things i had searched in the past , then i could just click on one of them and search it again. It has now dissappeared and i want it back. Any ideas??

Hopefuly somebody can enlighten me here.  I installed a program that added
functionality to my right-click menu when I click certain objects like "My
Computer" and file directories etc... My issue is that I cant get rid of
these options even after uninstalling the program.

My computer screen is 1600x1200 pixels.  This makes it
very hard to center the mouse pointer on top of window
borders when I want to resize a window.  In prior versions
of Windows, I recall a "resize window border" control
