I'm looking for a utility that will minimize all open
windows and go to the desktop after inactivity.  Not a
screensaver.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

I recently upgraded from Win ME to XP.  I find that all
the stuff in my old "My Documents" (e.g. My Pictures) has
been placed in a directory called "default" under the
Users and Settings folder.  All the other new user account

I have a large amount of photos, several gigs, and I have a Pioneer DVD-R
drive...can XP burn to it using the same method I use now to burn CD-Rs?
Also can it be read on other computers? Or on Macs?
I have all the XP updates.

When my friend installed XP Home, she put in a name and then the
25-number code, and then activated it.  Now she wants to change the
name from "Joe Schmoe" to "John Doe".  
How to do that?  

I can't seem to find the setting in XP Pro to revert to the old style
filename sort order in Save and Open dialog boxes.  I know it's somewhere,
can someone please point it out for me?

I had some adware and spyware intruders that altered the
taskbar by launching blazefind search assistant in tasbar
on startup. I maneged to clean the PC with Spyferret and
Ad-aware 6, but now can't save neither taskbar nor quick

I'm currently running Windows XP Home Edition, but when i
first built this computer, I was running Windows 98. I
had one of the Plus! 98 icon themes enabled when I
upgraded to Windows XP.

I used to be able to use  a jpg as my desktop image but now it will only
take bmp. I did have to do a clean install. Is there some setting I need to
change.

When changing screen backgrounds, somehow came up with
black background..of course with black text...cant read
anything in order to change it back.  Is there a series of
keyboard strokes or any other miracle to correct this?

I just bought a new computer. Running winddows xp home
version. the first time I signed on I saw a calendar on
my desktop. It showed the present month, dates and days,
also the past month (altho smaller) and the next month.

How can I specify that the my documents folder is stored on D: not C: for
all users? I know you can do it individually. How does one do it for all
users?

I am using XP Pro but I have turned off the Welcome screen login prompt to
the standard login prompt.  But I don't like the way it always display the
last user that used the computer.  Is there a way to turn it off so that
when you go and login, the name field is always blank??
