How do I stop the automatic balloon pop ups that ask me if I
want to update, check the status of this or that, let me
know (without me asking) the strength of my WiFi, and so forth.

My system beep in windows xp home sp2, slipstreamed, goes to the stereo
speakers instead of the pc speaker. The pc speaker works in a dos window.
I'd like the beep to bypass the sound card and just get the motherboard to
beep the pc speaker.

I wish to create keyboard short cuts for the icons on my desktop.  I have
right clicked the icons  and in properties tried to add the key in the
shortcut field where it currently says 'None'. However, it won't let me enter
anything in this field.  What am I doing wrong?

On Windows XP, all my volume controls are disabled even though I do have
sound. Why are they disabled? Please tell me what I need to check that caused

My "show desktop" icon disappeared from the quick launch toolbar.  I have not
been able to satisfactorly bring it back.  Creating a desktop shortcut only
takes me to the folder under my user's name and shows the icons and not the
desktop.  This is in Service Pack 2.  I have had ...

I have made changes using tweak ui. how can i restore it to windows xp

I have a lab of XP machines set to autologon to a roaming
profile, but at boot time the machines attempt to logon
before they see the domain controller.  This results in an
