How do you remove the build number from the desktop.  It showed up after I
installed SP2. Rather long number and it looks sloppy..

We use Group Policies that removes Folder Options, so that means users will
not be able to change their Folder Views from the default of "Icons" to the
more useable view setting of "Details".

at work we have numerous computers, all with the default background,

I wanted to make all of my folders have the same look, i.e., Icons, Arranged

I would like to activate my Auto complete. I have enabled it and Rebooted in

Win XPP SP2.  Every once in a while, I will make a new folder on the desktop
or somewhere else, but usually on the desktop.  This is always preceeded by
dragging some shortcuts into the folder as far as I can tell.  When I try to

WOuld you say that it is all right to open your mouse and blow the dust away
on it occasionally because of build up?? Same for the keyboard?? Curious
because my mouse fell and one of the pieces in there (with a coil-like
thing) was making noise-I think it moved around & opened it up ...

I have a slightly messed up display that does not support 640x480.  It
supports all other resolutions fine and we like the monitor but the
issue is some of our kids games.  They force the monitor to
full-screen 640x480 that is not supported and thus, our kids can't

Is there no other way to create a *New Folder*  than the laborious Right
Click > New > Folder route?

In WinXP's Windows Explorer, zip files are treated like

Someone on this list a while back turned me on to DlgXRSizer for
defining the windows explorer size and search functions.  It works great.
However, I had to reinstall and re-register the program after a major
system crash a few months ago, but now I get a popup during bootup

Bought a new tower, can I just hook up a USB cable from the old tower to
transfer files? Mainly nusic files. Thanks.
