Are there some way to turn on a computer remotely? How could I do it? By command line is it possible? What is necessary? I know that we have to set an option on Bios, but what else is needed? Thanks,

I have a home PC with Win XP Professional and Internet Explorer 6. I have a dial-up internet connection, set up at the time by someone from my ISP. Now I want to make a second user account on the PC, which I would want to use the same dial-up connection.

When a file is opened the taskbar reads "Microsoft Word/file name." How do I eliminate the "Microsoft Word" & only show the file name?

Does XP use memory more carefully than Win98SE? A friend had only 32MB and his XP system ran with it. He's asked me to fit a fax modem to his other computer running Win98SE. The POST reports 32MB of memory and Word won't even save a tiny 1K file

I am setting a new PC (a Notebook, WXP FR P2) for someone else. In WXP \Start \Settings \Control Panel \Power Options, I have the default profil selected, say "Notebook". In order to not alter the default, I leave unchanged the current power options

While cleaning up my hard drive I've found 9 folders in Docs & Settings > User > Local Settings > App Data > Identities. I only have 4 identities established in Outlook Express 6.

My computer is not an HP. But whenever I use the internet, I get an HP logo. It's mildly annoying. (I used to have an HP, but got a new motherboard and a new OS ). I'm using XP Home SP 1.

How do I get those little icons back? I ran a disk cleanup and they're all gone and back to the little "e" on the page again. I enjoyed having different icons for each site as a quick reference. Of course, I realize all websites don't have a custom icon, but the ones that did ...

Hi, I uninstalled a program. After that, some of the icons on my desktop got messed up. The shortcut was there but the icon pic wasn't. I was able to fix the problem for most of the shortcuts by going into properties and re-apply the icon file. Only "My Computer", "My Network ...

Why don't we have a "browse" option when we select "send to"? I don't want to send my files anywhere on that short list, I want to pick a folder to send them to.
