How do I delete partitions no longer required.

I just started having this problem after one year of flawless performance on
this computer.  I have three computers running XP Pro and this has been my
most reliable one until now.  When I try to update or install a program I
get the following error message:

 I there any way to find duplicate folders within the system? I have a lot
of pictures that duplicated I did a search and found 20,000 plus with a lot
of dup's
Does any one know of a windows search or any other program that could help.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to turn this device back on after it has
been accidentally turned off.  My laptop no longer recognizes when my digital
camera is plugged into the USB port. Any help would be much appreciated,

Somehow I have developed the problem of Windows Explorer opening a new
window when clicking a folder in the right hand pane.  I have double,
tripled and quadrupled checked the options under tools, and it definitedly
says to use the same window.  Help!

How do I execute the Recovery Partition that was put on my friends system by
the manufacture.  He wiped his system clean after having problems.  Can you
boot using a Win98 boot disk, go to the recovery drive, then execute a
command?  How is this done?

We are just moving to SP2 for XP.  I am using the latest version of Sysprep
to create my image.  My problem is that when I add Icons to the All Users
Desktop it duplicates them creating two of each.  The only article I can find

When I am in a program, any program, and go to File > Open I get a box that
pops up that lets me browse for a file. On the left side of that box are a
set of 5 Shortcuts to, My Recent Docs, Desktop, My Documents, My Computer and
My Network Places.

When you open a newly created folder window in XP it seems to set it to be
rather large. When you're digging through a zip file with folders within
folders your screen can get quickly covered (I don't want to reuse windows).
