As the story goes, we are supposed to install pgms as Admin for security reasons, and then run them as User. However, many pgms will not run as User if installed as Admin. How to fix this? Laurie

As you see from the following screenshot, my normal yellow folder icon has mysteriously been replaced by a blue 'monitor' icon. http://www.terrypin.dial.pipex.com/Images/FolderIcon1.gif The correct one is still used in My Computer folders, as shown.

I use boot.ini to choose between uniprocessor and multiprocessor hals using the /hal and /kernel switches. I have a hyperthreading Pentium 4 processor but some software won't work with the multiprocessor hal. I have the uniprocessor hal and kernel named unihal.dll and unikrnl.exe

I briefly left my system while I was entering in a data entry program. When I returned, the monitor image was sideways and I don't know how to restore it. I re-booted in "Safe" mode and it was ok. When I re-booted again, it was still in "Sideways" mode. How can I correct this?
