I want to change the basic blue screen which says "welcome".  It's the one
which comes up straight after the black splash screen, and before the screen
which asks you to type in your password.  I have created a jpg of the picture
i want. Where do I go from here? I've used TweakUI ...

I recently dragged Windows Media Player from the All Programs listing onto
the desktop, not realizing that it would be moved and not copied. I couldn't
find anything in help in order to get it back on the All Programs Listing.

When I try to close Windows XP, I get taskmgr.exe application error.  
Application failed to initialize (0xc0000142).  I have looked on the MS
website and on google and nothing is fixing this problem...even installed
some service pack updates and it still happens.  Any help you ...

Hi, i hope someone here can help me. Somehow, I have a "run as" command
"running" all the time. Whenever I attempt to open/run a program it asks for
permission and which user should be using it. This is very time consuming
and extremely annoying - especially as I did not set this ...

Can anyone tell me what the command is to manually run a scheduled
task? I created a task to run a specific program and then terminate
after 1 minute. I know you can right click on a task and select run,
but I wish to use a macro program I have. Simply running the *.job file

My computer was redone to work on my company's network.  They installed a
background I cannot change, desktop properties browse is grayed out.  I tried
selecting a picture and setting is as a background and it did not work
either.  Any suggestions?

Our family has 4 users, each with their own login.  When someone logs out,
the computer times out and the default screen saver comes on.  I have the
Microsoft Aquarium screensaver and I would like that to come on instead of
the default Windows Logo.  How do I do that?

I have recently reinstalled windows XP Home Edition and have been
reinstalling programs.  I just noticed that my whole picture folder is now
showing up in the display properties\desktop window.  This is really annoying

I'm using XP Home SP 1.  I opened Control Panel today and noticed a
new icon in there -- it's called "User Accounts 2" and is sitting
right next to the regular "User Accounts" icon.  
Where did this come from?  Why is it there?  What should I do?

My taskbar used to auto-hide and now it won't.  When I check the "auto-hide"
box and click the "apply" button (in taskbar properties) the taskbar will
roll down off the screen.  If I move the mouse pointer down to activate it,
it comes back on and stays.

Whenever i try to play a DVD on my comptuer, it gives me an error saying that
my DVD decoder is not installed on my computer. It used to work before,
please help me try and fix this problem.
