I just installed XP on my laptop, but for some reason the window size
is actually larger than the monitor.  Therefore to view the rest of the

I have windows xp:
sometimes the PC just freezes completely - the mouse stops still on the
screen and the hard drive does not seem to have any response- no light

When you click on the system folder " My Music" the menu on the L hand side
should show "Music Tasks", but mine shows "Picture Tasks".

1. How do I write data to a DVD?
I can play a DVD (i.e. a movie usually played in a home DVD player) but
trying to copy files to a DVD by cut and paste or drag doesn't work. The

When I double click using the left mouse button on a file or folder, the file
or folder does not open. Instead the search window comes up. This has just
happened recently. Right clicking on the mouse gives me the option of opening
the file or folder.

Running XP Pro SP2. Two related problems:
1. Folders which have been customised  (right-click, Properties, Customize,
Choose Picture) frequently lose the setting and instead pick up thumbnails
at random from other folders that have been customised. Restore Default also
