When I switch to the XP Start menu I get only the left panel. There is no "run" or "search", etc. It also says I have too many items in the start menu, etc. The classic start menu works fine. Is there a way to fix this?

Why are there some program items in my notification area (beside clock) that are not in my Startup menu? For example Quick Time. I don't want Quick Time running in the background. Also, how can I get rid of system icons such as the LAN connection?

Is there a tool that enables you to right click on a file on windows explorer and rename it so that all the spaces are replaced by a dash _ or a dot . and all letters are converted to lowercase?

I am unable to access my Quick Launch Taskbar. Whether I click or unclick "Lock the taskbar", nothing happens. MS knowledge base says that I used Tweak UI and will have to go back and undo it that way. I have never used Tweak UI, and I can find no other information about how to

I am Running Windows XP Home. All users have Admin accounts. Whenever I change the screen resolution, font sizes, Iconsizes on my account, all other accounts on the pc change as well. This is very annoying to the other users, so I have to change all settings back before I log off ...

the menu you get when you right click a app has some options on it that were installed by a program and when i uninstalled the program they were no removed from the menu how cna i remove them

I am using a TV as the only display on an XP-MCE system. The problem is that TV's overscan the picture so the border is beyond the screen edges. As a result, my taskbar is below the screen and my first row and column of icons are also off screen.

Hello, How can I set all my folders to open the same way "Explore" opens ? They will open as "List" but I have to click on the "Folder" button on each folder to set up the folder as "Explore" is set up. Have used Kelly's vb script, and the extra 8000, tried to setup each folder

a power user in XP Pro does not get preference changed. For example start menu, properties, change to small icon, OK, OK. after that, the change is gone. in explorer, any view or preference change also disappears

I recently made a good image of my computer, but I went to pass it over to the other computer in my home and noticed a problem. I can't have both computers using the same cd-key. So now I'm posting to try and get someone to figure out how to change the Windows XP home Cd-key.
