I'm not sure what determines this, (I've been using XP Pro on various machines) some of my shortcuts to folders, are sorted, some are not. Some show Folders on LHS, some do not show anything on LHS.

I have a lot of audio files in different formats, using WinAmp as the audio player, the OS is Win XP SP1. The problem is that windows shows all files as 'Winamp media file' instead of showing the real type (MP3,Wav, MIDI...etc).

I inheritated a computer that has XP Pro SP2. I have tried changing the Start Menu to use the Standard XP view, but is still shows as the "classic look" I have done virus/spyware checks and cleaned up a bunch of stuff...not sure if anything got removed that may affect this or ...

With my previous XP computer, I had it set up so that when a disk was inserted, the D:drive folder would appear on the screen with contents. No prompt for action, no automatic startup. When the disk was ejected, the folder would disappear.

I'm supporting a product that uses a (desktop) SQL server running in WinXP. Is the Microsoft SQL Server directory in C:\Program Files a part of the stand XP Pro install or is it an option that can be installed by the PC manufactuer?

All the options related to hidden files had already been set such that files and folders would be shown. The IE cache doesn't seem to be controlled by those settings.
