I'd like my 'Guest' account to allow remote users to connect via 'Remote Desktop'. How can I remove the built-in restriction that prevents remote access to the Guest account? Thanks!

I know there's a way to keep the system files (or whatever they are) from showing during Windows startup. My startup screen just started showing two or three files. I don't know why, and I can't remember what to do to stop it.

I am unable to change my background to any pictures that I have stored. I was able to do so before I added a spyware program and cannot now. The spyware program has been removed and when I go to change my background I am unable to do so. THe only thing I can choose is the NONE. ...

I occasionally run System File Checker (sfc /scannow) to be sure Windows files are present and in their correct versions. In the Registry, How do I point to a location different than the original Windows XP CD? Then I could avoid having to get out the CD every time

I recently did an update on my motherboard controller- from the Microsoft Windows Update website for the JMicron JMB36X Controller. My motherboard is the new ASUS P5B Deluxe wi-fi. The update was successful and listed as so on the Windows Update website.

Is there some way to change the order (left to right, for example) of the icons on the Taskbar? I see shareware, etc., but would prefer just to see if XP allows you to do it, or if there is a Microsoft-provided tool that would allow one to do that.

I have shortcut icons on my desktop arranged in groups. If I change screen resolution and then return to my normal settinf (1280 x 1024) the icons are scrambled. In some instances after restart they are scrambled. Any way to lock my arangement in. Windows XP SE2.

I require very good anti-virus and firewall programs. They can be seperate and not bundled. Currently I'm using McAfee Security Centre 6 but its got a dozen small programs running in the background and seems like bloatware to me. And every now and then I suspect it spins up my hd ...
