What's an simple program to reduce the resolution of my jpeg photos for quicker emailing besides the one provided in Windows XP? It should be able to reduce resolution fairly quickly for like 50 photos at a time.

My computer does not give me the option to change my desktop background when I go into the desktop menu. The background list and the "browse" buttons are not highlighted as if they do not apply. If I right click on a pic and save to background this does not work either.

I use an USB mouse on my notebook. Is there a way to disable the touchpad other than raising the hood and unplugging it. Using XP Home. Every time I disable it in device manager, it is promptly reinstalled.
