On my XP Pro PC I use PowerToys TweakUI and I have enabled 'Log on
automatically at system startup'. Occasionally when I reboot I still
get the logon screen. And the TweakUI setting has become unchecked.
Anyone have any idea why that might happen please? Never happened in

I'm having issues with my computer.  The text always seems to be blurred.  I
have a high resolution setting, 1600X1024.  My video card is a 512 MB, 128
bits, GeForce 8600GTS (which is a very good card).  Reading news on the
Internet, emails using outlook and even pop up dialogs ...

My applications insist on opening Save As > My Pictures (and Save As >
My Videos) in Thumbnail view. As these folders contain scores of
subfolders I want to browse quickly, that's not appropriate for me. Is

Hi, the logoff dialog now appears to be using dialog 1071 in shell32.dll,
which uses the smaller 98 style logoff, not the newer XP one, 1089.
How do I reset it to what it should be in XP (dialog 1089 in shell32.dll)?

It's about a power supply. I know it has nothing in commun with the actual forum.

This is probably impossible, but since my new computer has Office 2007,
there is no longer the office bar available.  I would like to sort of clone
the quick launch bar in the taskbar to have a second one.  Is this at all
possible?

I'm new to the group but have read many articles/posts on customizing
the Windows XP default profile and the issues/complications involved.
I have had a lot of trouble with how user's 'my documents' and related
folders display in the "Files Stored on this Computer" section of 'My

I have recently had my PC's software cleaned up of viruses, however,
every so often I get an error message which states there has been a
runtime error.
What does this mean?  Do I still have viruses.
