After I have customized my "display" and "sounds" settings in control panel and then restart my computer, all of my settings revert back to the default ones. What can I do in order to have my customized settings remain in tact upon restart?

In my list view, I like Explorer to show Dimensions, and Date Picture Taken. I (often) add them (r-click on column names) but every now and again Windows "forgets" that I added it and I have to readd them in the List View.
