i have win xp 3.0 ghz with 512 mb ram.....i've tried three games and not one can i get to play......it will install some games but wont allow me to play or half install then return me to the start menu, other times while installing it will just stop and i will have to switch off ...

Installed Halo long time ago (least it seems it) on a PIII at 733Mz with 512 ram running 98SE. At that time, it would consistently crash when loading one of the early maps. That problem wasn't resolved until I downloaded and applied the 1.0->1.031 patch, then all was well.
