For some other reasons I ran a repair a couple of days ago.
And then ran windows update a couple of times.
And now the audio device does not produce noise.

the winme uninstall exe.I was told to install xp overtop
of me but heard that its better to do a clean installso

I added a second ATA HD (a 13.6GB Maxtor).. the bios sees
the drive correctly, but Win XP Home sees it (in device
manager and "add new hardware" as a SCSI drive, which makes
NO sense to me.
