I have a Compaq Presario 2700 notebook that I purchased
with Windows XP Home on it.  I upgraded it to Windows XP
Pro in order to use it on a domain network. Sometime
after XP Pro was installed the computer crashed resulting

when i try and uprade winme to xppro i get to the
finalizing section on  
installation, down to about 21 mins till installation

I'm having the same problem.  No sound at all...I've
upgraded drivers, DirectX 9, rebooted, bought new

I have one 128m stick of Non ECC RDRAM PC800 from Samsung.
Since RDRAM must be installed in pairs, can I use another
memory module from a different manufacturer (say kingston)

My D drive is not showing up in my computer folder, I
check in device manager and it is working correctly. I
can reboot sometimes and get it back, other times I have
to power down many times to get it back.

Have put in the firewire, and the computer does not
recongnize the added hardware.  I've gone to the hardware
wizard to manually install it, but, wizard say "unable to
find any drivers for this device"  We have uninstalled
