why does my cumputer keep on shutting down every time iI try to check for virises.

Hi! I am having a hard time installing my printer, it
keeps telling me that my xp windows does not support my
printer; and I have even gone on the net to fix it but it
still gives me the same answer...

My PC shuts down on occasion( a blue screen appears with
a message - which appears to fast to read ) and restarts
and creates a mini dump file.  A Windows message box
appears - "Windows has recovered from a serious error"  

I recently upgrade from Windows XPHome to XP Pro on my
Sony Vaio.  I had thought that I had transfered some very
important photos to my D drive and installed XP Pro on my

My second Fujitsu hard drive in a year has just failed on me. This drive is
fairly old (6Gb) therefore not under warranty but I feel there is an issue
