Sorry for the long post but I've got a hardware problem I
just can't track down. here's what happened: I have an LG
4040b multi burner that wasn't burning anything so I did a

friend had a failure to boot.
Setup could not repair
Fix MBR gave cannot read old boot record
Appeared to format when asked but nothing had happened

While updating my bios I received a checksum error. The system then failed
to reboot into WindowsXP.
I was able to boot into DOS and reapplied the upadate successfully, but when
the reboot cycle gets to loading windows, I keep getting a message PRESS ANY

I am using Win XP Pro. with HP Pavilion with an Athlon 900

Installed software using CD-Rom.  Hooked up a camera to
capture a video clip and now CD-Rom is not working.  I put

I'm using Windows XP pro.  I have a USB Compact Flash
Card reader.  I plug it in and get the new Hardware
message, WXP installed the driver and says the hardware
is ready to use.
