Upgraded to XP Pro on my laptop (Dell Inspirion 5000). Now my internal modem will not work. Tried installing a PCMCIA modem, but it didn't work When trying to dial I don't get a dialtone and the modem doesn't dial Any help? Could this be a Windows or a driver issue Tom

i'm really getting desperate now. i have windows xp. the sound driver i had was a yamaha ac-xg one. when i turn off the computer the driver seems to uninstall itself and under sound devices it says there is no playback device.

I've recently bought a SCSI Seagate DDS3 (python 04106-xxx) tape drive and have a few problems: 1) When backing up data the drive DOES not compress data, even though in device manager the properties on the drive show that compression is enabled.
