hi i hav a sony dvd rom and LG cd-rw (on windows XP) but

Although Windows may seem to shut down correctly but
ScanDisk runs each time when i start my computer. I am

The problem is with the updates for my soundcard (direct from Creative's
website).  When I try to install, uninstall, rollback, etc, etc, (i.e.
anything to do with changing the drivers) the system resets

I upgraded my computer from an AMD Athlon 1250 MHz to a
AMD XP 2000+ and now whenever I try to boot my computer

Windows 98 would remember that I have a modem even if the
modem wasn't switched on when the computer was started (I
live in Spain ... not advisable to leave anything connected
