how do i transfer data from a cd or floppy to the
computer?

i have soundmax digital audio on my ASUS P4PE and i upgraded the drivers and
dont wish to roll them back but when i change to 4 channel sound and reboot
i do get 4 channel sound but once i reboot again it goes back to 2 speaker
stereo. why does this happen is there anything i can do ...

I keep reading posts about people whose BIOS reports the correct drive size,
but XP does not.
I have the opposite issue.  I'm installing a 160GB drive that the BIOS
reports is 136GB but disk manager reports as ~ 160GB.

I have a PIII/1Ghz system running Windows XP Home.  I want to get a new PC
with a P4 processor.  I am not clear whether I can simply move my HD from
the PIII to the P4.  Will the P4 system recognize XP on the HD?  Will XP on
the HD recognize the new system hardware?  I'm hoping not ...

After installing windows xp--my cd rom won't open--this

i have just tryed to install a khypermedia drive into my
other drive bay
the drive wasent working properly at all when you put a
cd in the drive it whould just blink a few times and

I have just tried to replace a file and part way through,
the replace failed with a Network error. When I try to
read the file, I was trying to replace, it is unreadable.
Is there another copy of this file that XP keeps in case

Can anyone advise me how to change my dvd settings to
long play as every time I try to copy a dvd it tells me

what does it mean when your cd rom drive dosent even spin up the cd and
windows xp says please insert disk when there is a disk in there and i still
get the same problem when i restart with a cd in the drive.
it also has the same problem on 2 different computers not just this one...
