USB 2.0 cable?12 Feb 2004 12:40 GMT2
I have a number of USB cables, one of which I know is a USB 2.0 cable.  Is
there some way to determine if a cable is a 2.0 or 1.1 cable?  Either by
something on the cable, or by plugging it in and checking transfer speed?

I have several new HP desktops.  I am finding that all of
them have sporadic problems with reading/formatting
floppies.  I have tried several new, different brands of
floppies in these drives.  Sometimes they format fine,

the computer has crashed and all tried updates  have

 I've just made a new computer, but the case is so small, so everything is
pack together, the power supply is just above the CPU fan. Is that OK?

Might be clutching at staws here but I refuse to admit defeat:
I've got a Lex BN730 Ultra M/board with onboard audio in the form of
SIS 7018 chipset. I also have a SB Live which is my prefered soundcard
however I'd like to run both on my XP Pro Build.

I have one 60gb IDE ATA 100 drive and a pair of 120gb SATA 133 drives

will function at 2.0 speeds.  Booting to XP causes the
machine to spawn the message that a high speed device has

winxp/sp1a.  I have a lexmark x73 mfp and a usb modem
(found it stuffed under desk and decided to try it again).

sound, no icon in the system tray, and in control panel,
no audio device is available - it is all "greyed out". No
