my dvd rewriter will not install propley

i have just got a new computer and when i tried to swap hard drive from my old computer it came up  disk error, i tried changing boot up in bios but didnt work, do i have to re-install xp from cd, can i not just swap?

Have used media player since I purchased the computer 2
years ago. Tried to play some of my music and received
following message: no audio hardware is available (not

I removed a second hard drive and replaced with a larger one.  Drive 'F'
