System Stops Reponding - Where to start loooking21 Apr 2004 02:17 GMT1
XP stops reponding.  The keyboard and mouse cannot be used
and the only thing I can do is hit the power button.  I
have all the latest drivers, SPs.  In addition, I updated
by BIOS thinking that was the problem, but it still

RAM: 128MB

My secondary hard drive has a bad sector on it.  I was
going to try to use chkdsk on it, but it does not show up
as a volume.  XP notes that it is installed, though.  Any
suggestions?

I am trying to format my drive with NTFS and a cluster
size of 64K, but i cannot do it from the prompt within XP
because it says the "volume is in use", and the boot disks
dont have the allocation size as an option. Suggestions?
