I have a brand new system with ONLY XP Home installed. Clean, virgin install. Have a HP LaserJet 1000 (USB) installed. No other USB devices. I get a error message from the taskbar stating a USB device has failed.

I added another Hard Drive to my XP-Pro System. The BIOS Finds it and logs it, however when I open 'my computer' it is not there. Also how to assign drive 'letters' in XP?

I have windows xp home. I have an external hard drive (buslink) I shut down the computer and the external drive and now when I boot up the computer the drive letter for the external hard drive is gone. How do I restore it.

I am having problems with above DVD-ROM - when I <eject> the tray opens and then immediatley closes again - it does not stay open - anyone got any ideas - I suspect a fault with the unit itself. Windows XP SP1a - All updates installed

Could someone please tell me that if you are using an external sound device and you have disabled integrated sound on your mainboard, is the external sound device fully independent of any audio components/drivers/busses from the mainboard?
