What is the problem  amd why would my operating system
disappear and return after an hour or so.. When I boot up
the computer, it says the operating system is missing, I
shut down and wait maybe an hour and it reappears. Please

Am I right in thinking I can set a partitions to have XP on first partition
and have second one to play games on, or do the games need to be on the
system partition, i.e. Ghost Recon, Prince of Persia etc.

I just installed a 160GB hard drive, but XP only sees
128GB. I installed it as a NTFS in the Disk Management
section. Any ideas how I can get the full capacity to

My friend had a 40 gig drive in win98se. It was all one partition. He
bought XP and installed it with fat32. I told him he should have chosen
ntfs so he reinstalled under ntfs. Now he has a 32 gig drive and the 8
gigs aren't visible. He thinks there may be data there he needs.

when I start my computer I notice that I get a reading of
pri slave not detected but the master slave is ok would

Hi, i have a seagate 200gb hdd which i formatted 2weeks
ago in 1 partition. All was fine until one day i turned
on the pc and under my computer my partition on the
seagate drive was shown as "Local Disk" and unformatted!

I upgraded to XP Professional.  Now my CD-RW won't burn.  
It won't format.  I've downloaded Roxio's latest Creator
7 Suit.  The CD works just fine until I try to write to
it.  My computer is two years old.  It's a Gateway.
