I have moved the HD that would not be seen as udma and now it is seen
correctly, problem is the system is still seeing it as F: drive not as D: as
it should.
I did remove the D: drive so now I have A C E F

I am moving a HD complete with OS ( XP Pro) from one system to another. The
mobo and chipset is different. I recall a MS Tech telling me about a switch
to the setup.exe program that would force the setup to ignore the current
registry and rebuild it from scratch.

XP will only see it as a PIO device no matter what jumper settings I use,
